Rates: $100 - $130 per hour (inc. super)



The Digital Delivery and Assurance team is responsible for planning, scheduling and supporting software delivery from development through to production as well as ensuring software solutions are reliable and accurate. The responsibilities of this section are as follows:

  • The management of application deployments from development through the continuous delivery pipeline (CDP) to Production.
  • Environmental support and troubleshooting.
  • The constant development, implementation and review of release governance processes
  • Administration of the Digital Change Authority (formerly known as CAB).
  • Automated testing and Quality Assurance governance.
  • Continuous refinement and innovation of DevOps tools and processes.

This role will work within multi-discipline delivery teams following agile principles to support IT systems to support business outcomes. They will work closely with DevOps Engineers, Release engineers and other technical and delivery focused staff in the section.

As a member of the Digital Delivery & Assurance Team the successful candidate will be required to:

  • Lead a senior group of DevOps Engineers, Developers, QA Specialists and Release Engineers on DevOPs practices including process, culture and technology
  • Be responsible for ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices
  • Work with multiple delivery teams to communicate, share and encourage alignment with DevOps practices

Applicants must be highly motivated with a strong work ethic and able to work effectively across multi-discipline teams. Applicants are expected to be proactive and motivated to build their corporate knowledge of the complex business and technical areas at IP Australia, relevant to their role.

Essential Criteria

1. Previous development experience with common languages like Java, Groovy and Python
2. Experience implementing solutions on major Cloud Services Providers including AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
3. Experience in container orchestration, specifically Docker, Kaniko, Kubernetes or OpenShift
4. Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps/IaC tools, techniques, and configuration
5. Experience CI tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, GoCD and build tools such as maven, gradle and npm
6. The ability to lead technical staff in the delivery of allocated projects, with proven time management skills
